For certain clients, options strategies may be incorporated as a complement to traditional portfolio holdings. These strategies are used selectively and only when appropriate based on a client’s experience, objectives, and risk tolerance.
Options overlays may be designed to either manage downside risk and preserve wealth or generate incremental income.
Options involve additional complexity and risk, including the potential for loss exceeding the initial investment in certain strategies. As such, options strategies are not suitable for all investors and are evaluated carefully within the context of the overall portfolio.
